Chinese Herbal Remedies

Both Western Medicine and Chinese medicine have their strengths and weaknesses. If you have a severe infection or a broken bone, Western medicine is probably your best bet. However, if you have ailments such as a cold or flu, allergies, a chronic sinus infection or constipation, Chinese herbal medicines excel. After all, the Chinese have had thousands of years to perfect their herbal medicines!

Unlike Western prescription drugs, which tend to suppress symptoms and create side effects, Chinese herbal medicines tend to support and balance the body to provide optimal healing—without side effects.

WHY THIS BRAND?

The next question is, which brand of Chinese remedies are the best? Chinese herbal remedies have gotten a bad reputation because in the past they’ve been found to be laced with some very potent Western synthetic drugs. That’s why I’m happy to introduce you to Dr. Shen’s herbal medicines, which are made in the U.S. and have a longstanding reputation for excellence. They’re made with premium grade wildcrafted herbs and do not contain any drugs, dyes, endangered plant species, or unlisted ingredients.

PERSONAL EXPERIENCE

On a more personal level, I haven’t gotten a cold or flu since I started using Dr. Shen’s Yin Chiao, also known as Cold Stop, more than two years ago. At the first sign of cold or flu symptoms such as congestion, sore throat, fatigue or that achy chilly feeling, I start taking Yin Chiao, and the symptoms are generally gone within a few hours.

Thanks to Dr. Shen’s Allergy Pills, I’m on my second uneventful allergy season. If I’m “wired but tired” and can’t get to sleep, I take some Good Sleep and am quickly asleep, with no grogginess the next morning. Likewise, a friend of mine swears by the Free & Easy formula for anxiety if she's getting on a plane.

tmb_rhubarb75.jpg Dr. Shen's Rhubarb for Constipation
$14.95

90 tablets

In Marco Polo's time, everyone knew about using Chinese rhubarb for constipation. Chinese rhubarb rhizome (different from rhubarb the food) was the most sought-after medicine of its time and a big reason for East-West trade for almost a thousand years. Dr.Shen's Rhubarb is an herbal blend that brings out the best qualities of Chinese rhubarb. Safer than senna or other laxatives, it's a tonic (strengthening) formula with laxative effect, not a simple purgative. These qualities make it better for long term use than common laxatives. If constipation does last more than a week, it is prudent to consult a physician.Using this or any laxative during pregnancy should be avoided.
