All Blood Spot Test Kits

USE OUR SUGGESTED PROFILES OR CREATE YOUR OWN TEST KIT

Blood Spot testing requires only a tiny amount of blood from a nearly painless finger prick—at home. You send the sample to the lab in a prepaid container and results can be sent to you or your doctor. Several tests can be run from a single sample. Blood spot testing provides results on a par with those from saliva tests and serum tests. It can be difficult for some people to produce enough saliva for a test, and the serum tests require a prescription from your doctor and a visit to a lab. The blood spot test combines the best of both worlds, without the cost and inconvenience. In addition, collection times can be optimized for fasting baseline hormone levels, assessment of HRT dosing and diurnal hormone testing.

NOTE: New York State Residents
New York State health law prohibits the testing of specimens collected in or mailed from New York, and prohibits the transmission of data from the laboratory to NY physicians or residents. Therefore, direct receipt of lab results for NY residents is not possible.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Thyroid Comprehensive Profile - Blood Spot
$279.00

This thyroid test kit is an overall assessment of thyroid function. Symptoms of thyroid deficiency can include weight gain, fatigue, dry skin, brittle hair and nails. Thyroid dysfunction can be a symptom of estrogen dominance and the risk of thyroid deficiency increases as we age. Test includes free thyroxine (fT4), free triiodothryronine (fT3), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), thyroid peroxidase antibody (TPO).

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Estradiol (E2) - Blood Spot
$35.00

Blood Spot Test. The most predominant of the estrogens. Testing is recommended with symptoms of estrogen deficiency or excess (see the link to The Hormone Balance Test, above). Best tested in concert with progesterone, as an imbalance of these two hormones is associated with major symptoms of menopause and disorders of the reproductive system. Testing is also recommended when supplementing with a compounded preparation of bioidentical estrogens containing estradiol (e.g. "Biest" preprations contain estradiol and estriol OR "Triest" preparations containing estradiol, estriol and estrone).

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Progesterone (Pg) - Blood Spot
$35.00

Blood Spot Test. Recommended with symptoms of deficiency or excess (see The Hormone Balance Test link above). Best tested in concert with estradiol, as an imbalance of these two hormones is associated with major symptoms of menopause and disorders of the reproductive system.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Testosterone (Blood Spot) (T)
$35.00

Blood Spot Test. Recommended with deficiency or excess symptoms; indicator of low sex drive, hair loss, muscle mass and bone status. It is recommended that Testosterone and SHBG be tested together to determine imbalances of testosterone and estrogen; an important indicator of Andropause onset and/or premature aging in men.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg AM Cortisol (C) - Blood Spot
$35.00

Blood Spot Test. Recommended with situational stress and fatigue; indicator of adrenal imbalance.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg DHEA-S - Blood Spot
$35.00

Blood Spot Test Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands that can be an indicator of stress levels and insulin resistance. Low DHEA can cause symptons such as mental fogginess and fatigue, and is associated with infertility, type 2 diabetes and aging. DHEA is a precursor to many of the steroid hormones.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG)
$85.00

Blood Spot Test. SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) measurement is used as a relative index of overall exposure to all forms of estrogens, as an indirect index of estrogen interaction with the liver and as an indicator of bioavailable testosterone.

High levels indicate excess exposure to estrogens and lower bio-availability of testosterone to tissues. It is recommended that SHBG be tested along with testosterone in order to determine if there is an imbalance between testosterone and estrogen. Such an imbalance is an important indicator of Andropause onset and/or premature aging in men.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Free Thyroxine (fT4)
$69.00

Blood Spot Test. Thyroxine is the main thyroid hormone produced by the thyroid. A well- regulated process causes thyroxine to generate the much more potent thyroid hormone T3 (Triiodothyronine).

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Free Triiodothyronine (fT3)
$69.00

Blood Spot Test. Measures the level of active thyroid hormone T3. This level must remain within optimal range to keep the body functioning properly and is crucial for maintaining physical and mental health.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Thyroid Peroxidase Antibody (TPO)
$69.00

In 90% of patients with Hashimoto’s (autoimmune thyroiditis) TPO levels are elevated; indicator of other autoimmune disorders and polycystic ovaries.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH)
$69.00

Measures the amount of thyroid hormone manufactured by the thyroid gland. General indication of thyroid activity. If you're only ordering one test for thyroid function, this would be the one to choose. High levels of TSH indicate that the brain and thyroid gland are working hard to raise thyroid levels, thus it indicates low thyroid. Very low levels of TSH may indicate thyroid excess, but it's wise to test other thyroid parameters if this is the case.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Fasting Insulin
$30.00

Blood Spot Test. Fasting insulin in blood spot for the detection of insulin resistance is collected in the morning after a 12-hour fast and before eating or drinking. High insulin can be a symptom of metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance and diabetes. Often caused by obesity and poor diet, markers of high insulin can include weight gain, water retention, high blood pressure, and low magnesium.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
$46.00

Blood Spot Test. FSH is a hormone made and secreted in the brain from the anterior pituitary gland and it acts synergistically with the lutenizing hormone (LH). FSH is a marker of menopause or andropause (male menopause) onset, along with LH, and is often used to determine the underlying cause of infertility in both men and women, such as a low sperm count or lack of ovulation. It can also be used to diagnose pituitary disorders, and early or late puberty in children.

ZRT_blood_test_std.jpg Insulin-like Growth Factor (IGF-1)
$85.00

Blood Spot Test. IGF-1 is important because it is a reliable indicator of human growth hormone. IGF-1 needs to be within the expected range for this reason: Low IGF-1 levels indicate Adult Growth Hormone Deficiency associated with rapid aging, decreased muscle and bone mass, slowing cognition, low libido and poor quality of life.
