How do I Take this Vitamin D Blood Spot Test?
You’ll receive a test kit in the mail. The test involves a nearly painless finger stick and a few drops of blood on a special kind of blotting paper. Blood Spot Test Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a hormone secreted by the adrenal glands that can be an indicator of stress levels and insulin resistance. Low DHEA can cause symptons such as mental fogginess and fatigue, and is associated with infertility, type 2 diabetes and aging. DHEA is a precursor to many of the steroid hormones.

Blood Spot Test. The most predominant of the estrogens. Testing is recommended with symptoms of estrogen deficiency or excess (see the link to The Hormone Balance Test, above). Best tested in concert with progesterone, as an imbalance of these two hormones is associated with major symptoms of menopause and disorders of the reproductive system. Testing is also recommended when supplementing with a compounded preparation of bioidentical estrogens containing estradiol (e.g. "Biest" preprations contain estradiol and estriol OR "Triest" preparations containing estradiol, estriol and estrone).

Blood Spot Test. PSA is a protein produced by the prostate gland is an important indicator of prostatic enlargement or increased risk of prostate cancer. High PSA levels are a warning sign of prostate health risks. A normal PSA reading is prerequisite to initiating testosterone therapy.

Blood spot test. In 90% of patients with Hashimoto’s (autoimmune thyroiditis) TPO levels are elevated; indicator of other autoimmune disorders and polycystic ovaries.
